River to Sea

Wow.... yesterday was awesome.

Ran 96 miles across the state of New Jersey with 6 other people.  Epic journey.  Makes you appreciate how AMAZING races like Leadville and Western States are... 100 miles run by one person?  Could I ever do anything like that?  Hmmmmm......  first let me knock a marathon out then we can talk.

Pictures from yesterday...

My first leg was nicknamed the "Beast".  8.6 miles.  Uphill.  ALL of it.  No seriously.  All of it.  Oh sure there were about .75 miles of the 8.6 that were downhill but no seriously... this thing was AWFUL.  It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done... and I loved every second of it.  What an experience... definitely left me wanting more.  Of something.  Either in the gym or on the road...

My last leg was just a 2.5 mile sprint to the finish line.  And I did sprint.  Well with whatever I had left I sprinted... it was slow for me.  Like 6:45 / mile pace.  I can do 6:30s in a 5K but my legs were just smoked from the Beast....

No training today.  Tomorrow back to barbells.  I have to figure out how the two can coincide.  Running.  Oly lifts.  CrossFit.  I have to figure that out...
