Do what you THINK you cant...

WOD:
2 mile run
At 3:00 mark - 10 burpees
At 6:00 mark - 20 pushups
At 9:00 mark - 30 situps
At 12:00 mark - 20 pushups
At 15:00 mark - 10 burpees
*20 minute cap for run

Many of us (including myself from time to time) go into the gym and lift things and numbers we already know we can do. We perform movements and exercises and lift loads that we have done time and time again.
My challenge to all of you: get your butt in the gym and do something you previously thought "I cant do that s**t" about. Havent gotten that first pull up? Take 5 minutes after warm up to just jump up on the bar, and pull with every muscle fiber in your body. Been stuck on that same number for deadlifts? Set your goal 5 lbs higher and tell yourself "I AM going to move this bar."
Dont come into the gym and take up one hour of your precious time just pushing around weight you already know you can move. This is NO LIMIT training... we have no limit. We shatter preconceived notions of "I cant" and leave nothing but trails of success and victory every time we lift. If we fail to break our personal record, thats quite alright... because if we failed, that means we tried. And if we tried, we will try again and again until one day we nail that son of a b**ch... thats just how we roll.

  1. I don't this could be anymore true...some days I come out of the gym and I coerce myself into thinking “I wasn’t feeling it today”. On 99% of those occasions I can chalk it up to how I approached the WOD…psyched out and complacent with surviving it. I also end up kicking myself and questioning “why didn’t I try to conquer what I thought I couldn’t” because 500 meters into my drive home I have plenty left in my tank. So from here on out I’m making a personal pact that I may fail and realize “I can’t” do something (at least for the moment) but it will never be because “I won’t” or didn’t want to try.

On a personal note of success I o/hs 145 yesterday (PR - yeah!) and I wouldn't have known I had it in me unless I tried.

  3. Nick, I am bad at understanding all the crossfit acronyms! Did you do over the head squats at 145? That is great!!! You love squats ;)
